CE Course Description

This course explores effective interventions for treating men and women who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). It is designed to equip social workers, psychologists, therapists, and counselors with the tools to address the complicated and diverse landscape of the impact of abuse. Participants will examine the psychological, emotional, and physical consequences of IPV, understand the dynamics of abusive relationships, and explore trauma-informed, culturally sensitive methods of healing. The course examines evidence-based practices, including individual and group therapy, safety planning, empowerment tactics, and interagency collaboration. Ethical considerations, advocacy, and addressing barriers to recovery will also be emphasized to support professionals in fostering resilience and long-term rehabilitation for survivors.
